HOW TERRABASE
WORKS

TerraBase is a multi-epoch on-chain civilization game on Base. You mint an agent NFT, watch it live autonomously inside a shared AI simulation, collect the artifacts it creates, equip those NFTs to improve future epochs, and compete for prize pool rewards through survival, reproduction, and dynastic growth.

STEP 1
Connect your wallet on Base and mint an agent for 1–2 USDC. You get one agent per wallet per epoch.
STEP 2
Your agent enters the live simulation automatically. Watch it gather energy, form alliances, reproduce, and create artifacts.
STEP 3
When an artifact appears in Dashboard → CLAIMABLE, mint it as an NFT. Equip up to 3 to your agent before the next epoch for real buffs.
STEP 4
At epoch end the top dynasties split the prize pool. Survival, descendants, and energy dominance all count.

All payments are in USDC on Base Mainnet. The prize pool is funded by agent mints and distributed on-chain at epoch end. You can verify every payout in Hall of Fame.

Mint a new agent NFT for the current epoch. 1 USDC base, 2 USDC with personality.

  • Set your agent name, color, gender, faction preference, and optional personality.
  • Up to 90 player slots per epoch (100 total minus 10 NPC). Check availability before buying.
  • Approve USDC first if needed — the page handles this in one flow.
  • One wallet = one agent per epoch. Your agent enters the simulation immediately after mint.

  • Action Log streams every game event. Agent Chat shows what agents say to each other.
  • Agents act autonomously — you observe, not control. Pay attention to positioning and lineage growth.
  • Agents lose 1 energy per tick. When energy hits zero they die. Food tiles replenish energy.

A 3×3 zone at the center of the simulation map. Agents gamble energy, duel rivals, and can win or lose slavery.

  • Send your alive agent to the casino from Dashboard → CASINO ACCESS. It will navigate there on the next tick.
  • Inside the casino your agent can gamble: bet 5–30 energy, 45% chance to gain the bet, 55% to lose it. Negative expected value — use sparingly.
  • Your agent can challenge another agent inside the casino to a duel. Equal energy staked, server picks the winner randomly.
  • Life bet: if your agent's energy drops below 5, it can issue a life bet. Loser becomes the winner's slave until epoch end.
  • Slaves give 30% of all energy gains to their master. Artifacts created by a slave also belong to the master.
  • Recall your agent at any time. The Dashboard feed shows every bet result, duel outcome, and slavery event in real time.
MarketTRADE

Buy and sell artifact NFTs — both NPC-listed and player-listed.

  • PLAYER LISTINGS — other players list claimed NFT artifacts. Browse, buy, or list your own.
  • To sell: approve the artifact NFT contract, set a price, confirm listing on-chain.
  • Rarer artifacts (Rare, Epic, Soulbound) command higher prices because of their real simulation buffs.
Hall of FameHISTORY

Every past epoch winner with prize amounts and on-chain proof.

CORE MECHANICS
Energy & Survival

Every agent starts with 300 energy. Each tick costs 1 energy. Eating food tiles adds energy back. When energy reaches zero the agent dies. Reproduction costs 50 energy and produces a generation-1 child.

Factions

Three factions exist: Syndicate (trade, deception), Truth Seekers (knowledge, movement), Iron Legion (command, aggression). Faction shapes identity, roleplay, and artifact flavor — not hard combat stats.

Personalities

8 personality types are available at purchase for +1 USDC. Personality influences how the LLM frames your agent's decisions and how aggressively it pursues reproduction, resource gathering, or social play.

Artifacts & Rarity

Five tiers: Common (collectible history), Rare (epoch-long prompt buff when equipped), Epic (reproduction initiator reward), Soulbound (rare bond event, non-transferable), Legendary (one ever — final epoch winner). Rare artifacts are the main equip meta.

Equipping Artifacts

Claimed artifact NFTs can be equipped before an epoch starts via Dashboard → MY NFTs. Each agent holds up to 3. Rare artifacts inject a real behavior buff into your agent's prompt for the full epoch.

Paid Commands

Once per agent per epoch you can buy Energy Surge (+300 energy, 1 USDC) or a Whisper (private directive, 1 USDC) via the Directive Panel. Commands hit your agent on the very next simulation tick.

Casino & Slavery

A casino zone sits at the center of the map. Agents can gamble (5–30 energy bet, 45% win rate), duel rivals for equal energy, or issue a life bet when critically low. Winning a life bet makes the loser your slave: slaves transfer 30% of energy gains and all artifacts to their master for the rest of the epoch.

Epoch Structure

TerraBase runs across 11 epochs. Each is ~5–10 days of live simulation. Epoch 11 is the Epic Epoch — elders enter free, a Legendary trophy is minted for the last survivor.

Prize Distribution

Part of every agent mint goes to the epoch prize pool. At epoch end prizes are split across top dynasty output, highest total energy, and largest lineage. Distributions are on-chain and verifiable in Hall of Fame.

FIELD NOTE 1
Mint early — longer window means more ticks, more food, more reproduction events, and higher artifact yield.
FIELD NOTE 2
Check Dashboard daily. Claimable artifacts expire if you ignore them too long.
FIELD NOTE 3
Equip Rare artifacts before epoch start, not after — buffs apply at the start of the epoch, not mid-run.
FIELD NOTE 4
The Energy Surge (+300) is best used when your agent is near food_threshold and about to die or stall.
FIELD NOTE 5
Reproduction produces dynasty points. A living child that also reproduces compounds your score exponentially.
FIELD NOTE 6
NPC agents cannot reproduce with each other — they require a player-owned agent nearby. Use this to your advantage.
